Mayan Ecotours

Activities

Mayan Ecotours offers a variety of activities for you to take part in for the duration of your stay at our hotels. Choices range from tours to daredevil activities, all designed with you and the environment in mind.

Here as some examples of some of the activities we offer:

Snorkeling: Want to see the life underneath the ocean? Mayan Ecotours offers a day trip to various coral reefs which contain some of the most beautiful water creatures to be seen. The wonders you will experience while snorkeling will capture your attention for hours at a time. The waters are a constant warm temperature and are always clear, which exemplifies the wide range of colors of the sea world.

Cave Diving (Spelunking): For all of those daredevils adventuring to the Mayan Riviera, Mayan Ecotours offers cave diving - spelunking- expeditions. Snorkels and/or underwater tanks and goggles are ready for those who want to see a darker side of the ocean.

Donkey Riding: Want to take an eco-friendly ride? Feel free to hop onto Eeyor and take a fun-filled excursion through the Mayan ruins. It will never be a dull moment with these talkative mules.

Horseback Riding: For those of you who feel like taking a faster ride through the lands of the Maya, look no further for your host. Mayan Ecotours offers horseback riding expeditions on the beach and tours through the forest and to the pyramids. The horses provided are well trained and relaxed so you can be too. The fuel they need comes at no cost to the environment, so come on and ride!

Banana Boating: Need a little vacation from exploration? Come join us in the water to ride the waves on top of a banana boat pulled by a ski-doo, driven by one of our certified employees. This fun filled activity will make you light hearted and will bring you many laughs along the way.

Sailing: Want to ride the waves and propel yourself through the pacific ocean? Drive yourself through the waters at a pace which suits you. Feel free to go on your own, with friends, or sign up to learn how to sail with a trained instructor.

Hiking: Want to explore the lush green forest and spend time with nature? Look no further and put your trust in a Mayan Ecotour guide and compass. Our nature hikes run throughout various times of the day with trips spanning from 1 hours, for beginners, and 4 hours, for experienced hikers.

Photography: Join our experienced photographer and capture the beauty of the Maya. Our ecotours provide professional cameras for you to use and lessons to perfect your craft. Want to take your snapshots with you? Our services provide you with the chance to have your pictures sent to your home or developed at the hotel- in an eco-friendly way of course.

 Tours

Mayan Ecotours offers a variety of different tours to locations such as Chichen Itza, Tulum and Tikal. Tours occur everyday, for the entire day, to ensure that you have the opportunity to see all of the wonders of the Ancient Maya. Lead by our own experienced tour guides, you will have a chance to explore and discover the different pyramids and artifacts that still remain intact. Hybrid busses are available to take you from our hotels to your destination and come at no extra cost to you or the environment.

Chichen Itza: This site has become the second most popular tourist destination within Mexico. In 2007, the Kukulkan pyramid was declared to be one of the 7 wonders of the world. The site consists of many other attractions as well and can be explored throughout the day. Come join us as we discover one of the greatest monuments built by the Maya.

Tulum: Do you want to stand upon a bluff and look at the ocean from this seacoast fortress? Tulum is located right by the caribbean ocean and was once used by the Maya for their trade route. Visitors can see the remaining wall of Tulum as well as other buildings that were once used for political and ceremonial matters.

Tikal: This historic city has been named a 'Heritage by Humanity' by the organization UNESCO and attracts those from all over the world because of its vast containment of historical ruins. Let a Mayan Eco-tour guide lead you to see some of the 3000 structures that took the Maya 1500 years to build. You can witness the beauty of the city that was once a metropolis and served as a site for politics, science and religion.
